Collaborative working: Flood risk and water management

icarus collective

Icarus has worked with the Environment Agency over many years to design and deliver collaborative planning processes across a wide range of flood risk management and water quality improvement projects.

We have recently completed a major piece of work to design a national framework for stakeholder engagement in the next 6 year cycle of water management planning. This process gathered opinion from senior managers across multiple water management sectors and used this analysis to inform the design of a collaborative process that reflects the government’s focus on the integration of water planning mechanisms.

We are supporting the production of Catchment Plans in both the Cumbria and Calderdale Flood Partnerships; helping the Environment Agency to plan collaboratively with communities and key stakeholders. This involves detailed design work, often co-creating engagement plans with communities, local authorities and agencies. We’re also facilitating both small and large planning meeting to develop action plans and strategies.
