Icarus offers an independent and critical eye to our clients’ research needs. We always ensure that our methods are guided by well defined research questions so that we can generate findings that are of genuine, practical use.  We recognise the value of using triangulation to improve confidence in research findings and therefore often advocate a mixed methods approach.

We manage both quantitative and qualitative data collection, and have particular expertise in gathering evidence from service users by accessible, inclusive methods.

We are specialists in employing interactive research methods such as interviews, focus groups and workshops to elicit rich, qualitative data. We are similarly experienced in using validated tools and survey based methods to collect quantitative information. Our approach to data analysis is transparent and robust to ensure that we develop evidence based insights and recommendations in response to research questions.  Our findings are frequently used to inform decisions about service and programme delivery.
