We worked with the Students’ Union University of Greenwich to develop an outcomes framework, as well as a plan for implementing the framework. The goal was to create clarity about the overall purpose and aspirations of the Union, in a way that would then filter down to help structure activity plans for individual work streams. We ran one to one interviews with the Union team, focus groups with affiliated groups, a survey to affiliated groups, and full team focus groups to understand what was required of the outcomes framework, and how it would be used. It was also important to set this within the context of the Union’s existing activities and how the two married together.
Once the evaluation framework was agreed, we moved on to supporting the workstream leads to reframe their activities to show how they contributed towards the outcomes. Finally, we developed an evaluation approach to help inform how the Union was progressing towards achieving its outcomes, including an annual student survey for which we analyse the findings each year.
