Steve Smith

Steve’s expertise is in the facilitation of developmental, consensus building and engagement processes in multi stakeholder environments. A particular strength is his use of creative, participative and innovative approaches and his extensive experience of working with groups and organisations of all sizes, across a range of issues. Much of Steve’s work focuses on designing and facilitating processes to enable large groups find positive ways forward when they are dealing with conflict and complexity. Over recent years he has focused particularly on environmental conflict; designing processes to develop agreement and strategies around issues such as climate change/carbon reduction, coastal planning, flooding, air quality, land management, energy, waste, travel/spatial/urban master planning. He is an experienced trainer and delivers courses nationally on stakeholder engagement, facilitation skills, partnership working and engaging with “hard to reach” groups.
